Aims: The etiology of infertility is still unknown in almost half of all male infertility patients. In sperm, DNA condensation differs from somatic and female gamete cells, with the protamine (PRM) gene and its transcription factor, Y-box binding protein 2 (YBX2), playing key roles in making the structure more compact. Protamine polymorphisms have been studied in different populations, but various results have been acquired.
Materials And Methods: In our study, we examined, for the first time in a Turkish population, the association between protamine gene alleles (PRM1 c.-190C>A, PRM1 c.197G>T, and PRM2 c.248C>T), and YBX2 (c.187T>C and c.1095 + 16A>G) and male infertility. This was accomplished using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism analyses of 100 infertile and 100 fertile Turkish men. Sperm DNA fragmentation analysis was performed using the Comet technique.
Results: We found that the AA and CA genotypes of the PRM1 c.-190C>A polymorphism had a significant association with infertility (p < 0.001) and the AA genotype was also highly significantly associated with high sperm DNA damage (p < 0.001).
Conclusion: This study demonstrates that the PRM1 c.-190C>A polymorphism is associated with sperm DNA fragmentation, which may impact male infertility in the Turkish population. Further research with larger groups and in various other study populations will be required to clarify the impact of protamine and YBX2 gene polymorphisms on male infertility.

Even though Leydig cell tumor (LCT) represents the most common neoplasia among testicular sex cord-stromal tumors (SCSTs), it is a rare condition, comprising 1-2% of all testicular tumors, with a 10% risk of malignancy most commonly located in retroperitoneal lymph nodes. LCTs may demonstrate various clinical manifestations - from asymptomatic intratesticular swelling through nonspecific symptoms such as loss of libido, impotence or infertility, up to feminizing or virilizing syndromes due to hormonal activity of the tumor. This article presents a case of Leydig cell tumor that was associated with azoospermia what have rarely been reported worldwide.

Infertility has emerged as a significant public health concern, with assisted reproductive technology (ART) is a last-resort treatment option. However, ART's efficacy is limited by significant financial cost and physical discomfort. The aim of this study is to build Machine learning (ML) decision-support models to predict the optimal range of embryo numbers to transfer, using data from infertile couples identified through literature reviews.

BACKGROUND Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) is a common microorganism that has been associated with a variety of obstetric and neonatal complications, such as infertility, stillbirth, histologic chorioamnionitis, neonatal sepsis, respiratory infections, and central nervous system infections. However, it is rare for it to cause severe neonatal asphyxia. This rarity is the focus of our case report, which aims to highlight the potential severity of UU infections in newborns.

Background: Up to now, a number of studies have explored the influence of blastocyst biopsy on maternal and neonatal outcomes, and the results have been somewhat inconsistent. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate whether blastocyst biopsy is associated with an elevated risk of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) and other adverse perinatal outcomes during frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles in singleton live births resulting from intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in women aged ≤ 35 years.
Methods: A total of 1,008 women were involved in this study from January 2020 to June 2022, who underwent ICSI cycles and received single FET, leading to the birth of a live singleton newborn.

Carvacrol is a common ingredient in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and perfume industries. It possesses various pharmaceutical properties including pain relief, anti-cell death, antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory effects. We investigated the protective impact of carvacrol on infertility caused by varicocele in rats.
