Gemination twinning and fusion, are rare occurrences in posterior mandibular teeth, often requiring endodontic and surgical treatment for functional, orthodontic or cosmetic reasons. The diagnosis and design of a precise treatment plan in cases involving double teeth are in most cases challenging. The purpose of this case report is to describe a successful multidisciplinary treatment protocol for a double tooth. Upon completion of the endodontic, restorative and orthodontic treatments, the clinical and radiographic three-year follow-up revealed that the rest of the transected premolar showed evidence of healing of the supporting tissues and satisfactory cosmetic result.

Introduction: The present study aimed to explore the epidemiologic threats and factors associated with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-associated mucormycosis (CAM) epidemic that emerged in Egypt during the second COVID-19 wave. The study also aimed to explore the diagnostic features and the role of surgical interventions of CAM on the outcome of the disease in a central referral hospital.
Methodology: The study included 64 CAM patients from a referral hospital for CAM and a similar number of matched controls from COVID-19 patients who did not develop CAM.

Background: Basal cell nevus syndrome, also known as Gorlin or Gorlin-Goltz syndrome, is a hereditary condition caused by mutation in the PATCHED gene. The syndrome presents with a wide range of clinical manifestations, including basal cell carcinomas, jaw cysts, and skeletal anomalies. Diagnosis is based on specific criteria, and treatment typically includes surgical removal of basal cell carcinomas.

Background: Classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia, primarily due to 21-hydroxylase deficiency, leads to impaired cortisol and aldosterone production and excess adrenal androgens. Lifelong glucocorticoid therapy is required, often necessitating supraphysiological doses in youth to manage androgen excess and growth acceleration. These patients experience higher obesity rates, hypertension, and glucose metabolism issues, complicating long-term health management.

Individual enhancers are defined as short genomic regulatory elements, bound by transcription factors, and able to activate cell-specific gene expression at a distance, in an orientation-independent manner. Within mammalian genomes, enhancer-like elements may be found individually or within clusters referred to as locus control regions or super-enhancers (SEs). While these behave similarly to individual enhancers with respect to cell specificity, distribution and distance, their orientation-dependence has not been formally tested.

The increasingly complex health care systems, the large and diverse population to whom nutritional therapy is addressed, and the need of specialized health care professionals implies an organizational strategy to be defined. The organization of nutritional care is a fundamental strategy to promote an optimal, quality and safety nutritional therapy. This is why, the organization of nutritional care should be based on 4 principles, including: Nutritional care should be considered as a process, a multidisciplinary approach is essential to a good nutritional care, the economic approach and the patient centered approach are essential to the organization of nutritional care.
