Monomeric tri-coordinated bis(ferrocenyl)haloalumanes.

Dalton Trans

Graduate School of Science and Technology, University of Tsukuba, 1-1-1 Tennodai, Tsukuba, Ibaraki 305-8571, Japan.

The reactions of the sterically demanding ferrocenyl lithium dimer (Fc*Li) (Fc* = 2,5-bis(3,5-di--butyl-phenyl)-1-ferrocenyl) with aluminum trihalides (AlCl, AlBr, and AlI) to furnish the corresponding monomeric bis(ferrocenyl)haloalumanes are reported. In the case of the reaction with AlI, an unexpected intramolecular 1,1'-aluminum migration in the ferrocenyl moiety was found to occur. Their monomeric structures with a tri-coordinated aluminum atom show affinitive Al⋯Fe interactions.

Gallbladder-derived retinoic acid signalling drives reconstruction of the damaged intrahepatic biliary ducts.

Severe damage to the intrahepatic biliary duct (IHBD) network occurs in multiple human advanced cholangiopathies, such as primary sclerosing cholangitis, biliary atresia and end-stage primary biliary cholangitis. Whether and how a severely damaged IHBD network could reconstruct has remained unclear. Here we show that, although the gallbladder is not directly connected to the IHBD, there is a common hepatic duct (CHD) in between, and severe damage to the IHBD network induces migration of gallbladder smooth muscle cells (SMCs) to coat the CHD in mouse and zebrafish models.

Disappointment is a vital factor in the learning and adjustment of strategies in reward-seeking behaviors. It helps them conserve energy in environments where rewards are scarce, while also increasing their chances of maximizing rewards by prompting them to escape to environments where richer rewards are anticipated (e.g.

Purpose: Autologous retinal transplantation has been successfully employed in the treatment of large and myopic macular holes that are refractory to standard surgical treatments. Patients transplanted with a peripheral neurosensory retinal graft have shown unexpected improvements in visual acuity. The study aims to investigate if neural integration of the graft takes place in a porcine model of retinal hole.
