Cryopreservation enhances the availability of "off-the-shelf" cell therapies. However, the choice between tissue culture polystyrene (TCP) and hollow fiber system (HFB) system for adipose-derived stem cell (ASC) production remains a critical decision, with implications for scalability, reproducibility, and the clinical efficacy. Therefore, the characteristics of ASCs expanded in TCP and HFB and cryopreserved were compared.

MicroRNAs, small endogenous noncoding RNAs, are involved in the regulation of epidermal homeostasis. Among them, miR-203 was the most described and expressed in human epidermis, promoting keratinocyte (KC) differentiation by repressing genes involved in proliferation. To identify other microRNAs involved in this process, the miRNomes of normal human KCs cultured in monolayer (2-dimensional) or in 3-dimensional reconstructed skin were compared.

Mutagenic processes drive evolutionary progress, with ultraviolet (UV) radiation significantly affecting evolution. Despite extensive research on SOS response-mediated mutagenesis, UV-induced repair mechanisms remain complex, and their effects on cell survival and mutagenesis are not fully understood. We previously observed a near-perfect correlation between RecA-mediated SOS response and mutation levels in following UV treatment.

Background: Previous works have shown that the expression of Class-II-Transactivator (CIITA) in tumor cells reduces the growth of glioblastoma (GB) in animal models, but immune effects cannot solely explain this. Here, we searched for immune-independent effects of CIITA on the proliferation of GB.
Methods: Murine GL261 and human U87, GM2 and GM3 malignant glioma cells were transfected with CIITA.

: Plant derived isolated compounds or extracts enjoy great popularity among cancer patients, although knowledge about their mode of action is unclear. The present study investigated whether the combination of two herbal drugs, the cyanogenic diglucoside amygdalin and the isothiocyanate sulforaphane (SFN), influences growth and proliferation of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cell lines. : A498, Caki-1, and KTCTL-26 cells were exposed to low-dosed amygdalin (1 or 5 mg/mL), or SFN (5 µM) or to combined SFN-amygdalin.
