The awarding of the gold medal from the Catalan Society of Transplantation to the organizers of the Banff Transplant Pathology meetings is an opportunity to acknowledge gratitude to all the people who have helped make these meetings a success over the past 26 years. Other large organizations have given up consensus conferences, but the Banff consensus process is thriving. It is unusual for any organization to have the same leadership for 26 years. It has only worked for the Banff meetings because the leadership was flexible and able to change with the times. People have often talked about the "special Banff spirit." This year's meeting gave us the opportunity to examine this spirit in detail by analyzing how the meeting consensus sessions and social events functioned. The meeting has never used expert facilitators, but instead has employed experts within the transplant pathology community to moderate discussions. The size of the working sessions is important; they have usually been less than 150 people, which is within "Dunbar's number," meaning that in gatherings of that size one can have empathetic feeling for all the people there. In larger gatherings one loses that "we are all in this together" feeling and people begin thinking "us" versus "them" thoughts. For "unknown" young people the ability to easily talk to well-known leaders in the field is rewarding and keeps them coming back for more time after time. Images of the social events do not suggest any sort of hierarchy; everyone interacts with everyone else.

This article highlights the evolution, birth and legacy of the world's first neonatal surgical unit established at Alder Hey Children's Hospital Liverpool in 1953. Peter Paul Rickham, a creative pioneering and innovative surgeon, is credited here as a major driving force that helped shape and progress the modern day development of neonatal surgery. Rickham's vision was realised by studying neonatal surgical disorders and the mortality rate of congenital anomalies in Mersey Region while working as a young senior registrar with Isabella Forshall.

In this research, male and female athletes who won gold, silverand bronze medals at the International Weightlifting Federation Senior World Championship (between 2011 and 2023); (a) analysis of successful and unsuccessful lifts in snatch and clean and jerk techniques, (b) analysis of successful and unsuccessful lifts in 3 lift attempts in both techniques and, (c) It is aimed to investigate the lifting attempts of athletes that determine their medal rankings in snatch, clean and jerk and total. In this retrospective study, data of 3144 (1603 and 1541 for male and female, respectively) individual results obtained from the lifting performances of 528 athletes (male n = 270; female n = 258) participating in the Senior World Championship (between 2011 and 2023) in snatch and clean and jerk were analyzed. In the study, the frequencies and rates of the individuals included in the study according to different variables are presented with descriptive statistics.

Introduction: This study aims to analyze the competitive performance and pacing strategies (PS) of medalists and non-medalists in different rounds of the 400 m and 800 m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships.
Method: The 2017-2024 World Swimming Championships and 161 elite swimmers were selected. First, intra-athlete coefficients of variability (CVs) were evaluated using linear mixed effects modeling and changes in competitive performance (Δ); second, descriptive statistics of position lap time; finally, a computer algorithm was used to obtain PS, then a two-way ANOVA was performed.
