Electrochemically reducing CO into fuels using renewable electricity is a contemporary global challenge that requires significant advances in catalyst design. Photodeposition techniques were used to screen ternary alloys of Cu-Zn-Sn, which includes brass and bronze, for the electrocatalytic reduction of CO to CO and formate. This analysis identified Cu Zn Sn and Cu Sn to be capable of reaching Faradaic efficiencies of >80 % for CO and formate formation, respectively, and capable of achieving partial current densities of 3 mA cm at an overpotential of merely 200 mV.

According to the state of the art, most of the mixed copper and copper alloy scrap and residues are processed in a copper smelter. Despite the environmental and economic advantages relative to primary production, the recycling of copper and its alloying elements (zinc, tin, lead, nickel, etc.) requires significantly more energy and cost than remelting unmixed or pure scrap fractions such as separate collected material or production scrap.

Utilizing geochemical analysis, this study identifies the sources of European brass used in the casting of the renowned Benin Bronzes, produced by the Edo people of Nigeria. It is commonly believed that distinctive brass rings known as "manillas", used as currency in the European trade in West Africa, also served as a metal source for the making of the Bronzes. However, prior to the current study, no research had conclusively connected the Benin artworks and the European manillas.

The basic objective of the current investigation by using CFD simulation is to select the appropriate material to fabricate Vortex tubes in meteorological conditions, which can improve efficiency and performance. The simulation results of vortex tubes were used in obtaining the performance for various materials such as copper, stainlessteel, brass, PVC, CPVC, acrylic, nylon, and bronze. The ratio of length of the hot tube and inner diameter was chosen as (L/D) 40 with the consistent inner diameter of the hot tube as 15 mm.
