The effectiveness of ultraviolet-C light-emitting diodes (UVC LEDs) is currently limited by the lack of suitable encapsulation materials, restricting their use in sterilization, communication, and in vivo cancer tumor inhibition. This study evaluates various silicone oils for UVC LED encapsulation. A material aging experiment was conducted on CF1040 (octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane), HF2020 (methyl hydro polysiloxanes), and MF2020-1000 (polydimethylsiloxane) under UVC radiation for 1000 h.

Background: Hemodynamic alterations in the spermatic vein are implicated in infertility among patients with varicocele (VC). Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), a powerful tool for hemodynamic analysis, remains unexplored for VC. This study aimed to demonstrate the feasibility of using CEUS to evaluate spermatic vein hemodynamics in patients with VC and establish a clear correlation between specific hemodynamic patterns and impaired semen parameters.

The fertility preservation (FP) is a paramount concern for oncology patients and should be regarded as an essential component of their overall cancer management strategy. The magnitude of this issue has been recognized in FP guidelines. The formulation and execution of harmonized guidelines and policies concerning the provision of FP services, inclusive of therapeutic strategies and standardization of procedures, are crucial to surmount disagreements regarding the delivery of these therapeutic services and avert delays in cancer treatment.

Importance: Infertility affects around 180 million people in the world and can be influenced by a number of nutritional factors.
Objective: The idea of a pretreatment optimization including beneficial weight loss, adequate physical activity, and good lifestyle habits could enhance fertility for many couples who want to conceive a baby.
Results: There are different aspects related to nutrition, such as obesity (affecting 23%-30% of reproductive-aged women), dietary patterns (type of diet, good or bad habits, and physical activity), nutrients (vitamins or minerals), hormones (adipokines, among others), and endocrine-disrupting chemicals (phytoestrogens and bisphenol A, among others) that have a clear impact on women's fertility.
