Allografts techniques remain the best reconstructive strategy for chronic extensor mechanism lesions after total knee arthroplasty (3) but outcomes depend strictly on the host tissue-allograft junctions healing. The purpose of this study is to evaluate if modern techniques of adding autologous bone marrow cells concentrate enriched with platelet-rich fibrin, provide better healing of the allograft. We present the case of an 86 years old patient affected by patellar tendon rupture after TKA. A whole extensor mechanism allograft was performed adding a bone marrow cells concentrate enriched with platelet-rich fibrin on the host tissue-allograft junctions. Preoperatively and at each follow-up the value of Knee Society Score and radiographic consolidation signs were recorded. Radiographic controls showed clear signs of consolidation already at 1 months follow-up and a solid fusion at 3 months. This case report describes a valid method to improve healing using a tissue-construct engineered with stem cells and growth factors.

Introduction: Olecranon fractures account for 5-7% of elbow fractures, making them a common injury. The majority of these fractures are treated surgically because they are intra-articular and can disrupt the elbow extensor mechanism. Mayo Type II fractures are displaced with a stable ulnohumeral joint, indicating intact ligamentous structures, particularly the anterior portion of the medial collateral ligament.

Purpose: Reduced force control after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and reconstruction may contribute to poor function. Various metrics (linear and nonlinear) have been employed to quantify force control. The aims of this review were to synthesize evidence assessing knee extensor and flexor force control after ACL injury (ACLD) or reconstruction (ACLR) and to investigate the potential effects of injury management (e.

Short-term unloading experienced following injury or hospitalisation induces muscle atrophy and weakness. The effects of exercise following unloading have been scarcely investigated. We investigated the functional and molecular adaptations to a resistance training (RT) programme following short-term unloading.

Malignant mesenchymal tumors are a diverse group of aggressive cancers originating from mesenchymal cells in connective tissues such as bone, muscle, cartilage, and fat. These tumors often invade surrounding tissues and metastasize to distant organs, posing significant treatment challenges. Among them, malignant mesenchymal tumors located in the distal femur are particularly rare, with limited reports detailing effective surgical and functional reconstruction strategies following wide resection.

Introduction: Motor recovery following nerve injury is dependent on time required for muscle reinnervation. This process is imperfect, however, and recovery is often incomplete. At the neuromuscular junction (NMJ), macrophage signaling aids muscle reinnervation.
