Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the anthropometric accuracy of 3D face reconstruction based on neural networks (3DFRBN) using 2D images, including the assessment of global errors and landmarks, as well as linear and angular measurements.
Methods: Thirty healthy volunteers were recruited in this study. For each volunteer, five standard photos were taken, capturing anterior, 45° to left and right, and 90° to left and right views.

Accurate genome duplication requires a tightly regulated DNA replication program, which relies on the fine regulation of origin firing. While the molecular steps involved in origin firing have been determined predominantly in budding yeast, the complexity of this process in human cells has yet to be fully elucidated. Here, we describe a straightforward proteomics approach to systematically analyse protein recruitment to the chromatin during induced origin firing in human cells.

Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) and atrial fibrillation (AF) disproportionately affect older adults, who are at increased risk of bleeding from treatment with anticoagulant therapy. The impact of bleeding on older adults' quality of life (QoL) is poorly understood due to the lack of a validated measure of their experience. This study's purpose is to describe the first evidence-based steps in developing a new condition-specific patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) for the effect of anticoagulant-related bleeding on older adults' QoL.

is a pathogen that causes sporadic cases and outbreaks of diarrhea. The main virulence feature of this bacterium is the attaching and effacing (AE) lesion formation on infected intestinal epithelial cells, which is characterized by the formation of pedestal-like structures that are rich in F-actin. The Brazilian 1551-2 strain can recruit F-actin using both the Nck-dependent and the Nck-independent pathways, the latter of which uses an adaptor protein named Tir-cytoskeleton coupling protein (TccP/EspF).

Objective: To develop a proof-of-concept smart-phone-based eye-tracking algorithm to assess non-pathologic optokinetic (OKN) nystagmus in healthy participants. Current videonystagmography (VNG) is typically restricted to in-office use, and advances in portable vestibular diagnostics would yield immense public health benefits.
Study Design: Prospective cohort study.
