Revealing the current source distribution along the neuronal membrane is a key step on the way to understanding neural computations; however, the experimental and theoretical tools to achieve sufficient spatiotemporal resolution for the estimation remain to be established. Here, we address this problem using extracellularly recorded potentials with arbitrarily distributed electrodes for a neuron of known morphology. We use simulations of models with varying complexity to validate the proposed method and to give recommendations for experimental applications. The method is applied to in vitro data from rat hippocampus.

Denitrifying bacteria, particularly nirK- and nirS-type, are functionally equivalent and could occupy different niches, but their community assembly mechanisms and responses to environmental heterogeneity are poorly understood in eutrophic lakes. In this study, we investigated the community assembly mechanisms of nirK- and nirS-type denitrifying bacteria and clarified their responses to sediments environmental factors in Lake Taihu, China. The quantitative real-time PCR and Illumina HiSeq-based sequencing revealed that the abundance and composition of two types of denitrifying bacterial communities varied among different sites in the sediments of Lake Taihu.

The objective of this research is to study the prevalence and risk factors of psychosocial and behavioral problems in children and adolescents of different ages and genders to provide a scientific foundation for more targeted psychological interventions and social support in the future. From April 21 to May 31, 2023, a cross-sectional survey was conducted using a stratified random sampling method in five cities (Beijing City, Changchun City, Baicheng City, Shenyang City, Hohhot City) across four provinces in Northern China (Beijing, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia).
