Concurrent acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and multiple myeloma (MM) is rare, more so in chemotherapy-naive patients. Concurrent occurrence of these two malignancies portends poor prognosis. Although anthracycline-based AML regimen, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, tipifarnib and bortezomib have shown promising results in small number of patients, there is a lack of established therapy. We describe a case of concurrent AML and MM in a 66-year-old woman and review previously published literature.

We present a case detailing the diagnostic challenges of a 23-year-old male presenting with a sudden severe headache, nausea, vomiting, and chest heaviness. Initial evaluation showed elevated blood pressure and respiratory rate. An emergency electrocardiogram (ECG) indicated ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), leading to immediate referral for percutaneous coronary intervention, which revealed normal coronary arteries.

The mainstay of management for uncomplicated type B aortic dissection is currently optimal medical therapy, targeting blood pressure and heart rate, along with serial imaging. There is a paucity of data that informs whether early intervention with thoracic endografting in this group of patients will promote aortic remodeling and better long-term outcomes. Investigations to date, including the Investigation of Stent Grafts in Aortic Dissection (INSTEAD), INSTEAD-XL, and Acute Dissection: Stent Graft or Best Medical Therapy (ADSORB) studies, have compared thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) with optimal medical therapy in patients with uncomplicated type B aortic dissection but have not shown a benefit for TEVAR conclusively.

Acute lung injury being one of the earliest and most severe complications during sepsis and macrophages play a key role in this process. To investigate the regulatory effects and potential mechanisms of adipose mesenchymal stem cell derived-exosomes (ADSC-exo) on macrophages and septic mice, ADSCs-exo was administrated to both LPS-induced macrophage and cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) induced sepsis mice. ADSCs-exo was confirmed to inhibit M1 polarization of macrophages and to reduce excessive inflammation.
