Smart textiles provide a significant technological advancement, but their development must balance traditional textile properties with electronic features. To address this challenge, this study introduces a flexible, electrically conductive composite material that can be fabricated using a continuous bi-component extrusion process, making it ideal for sensor electrodes. The primary aim was to create a composite for the filament's core, combining multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), polypropylene (PP), and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), optimised for conductivity and flexibility.

A healthy lifestyle plays a key role for maintaining the cardiovascular health (CVH) status and prevent cardiovascular disease occurrence. In fact, a healthy lifestyle was included in the AHA Cardiovascular Health score (Life's Simple 7 [LS7]), subsequently updated to Life's Simple 8 [LS8]. Apart from the importance of controlling conventional cardiovascular risk factors, increasing evidence supports the contributory role of cardiovascular hormones.

Chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus (CKD-aP) is underdiagnosed and not fully understood by healthcare professionals, which leads to poor patient management and impacts patients' quality of life (QoL). The aim of this study was to analyse unmet needs in CKD-aP management and explore the attributes/characteristics that the ideal CKD-aP treatment should have from the perspective of a group of nephrologists, hospital pharmacists, nurses, patient representatives, and regional health authorities in Spain. A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted using an e-survey including ad hoc questions (6-point Likert scale) related to unmet needs in CKD-aP and best-worst scaling (BWS) to prioritise the attributes/characteristics of the ideal CKD-aP treatment.

Rigid bronchoscopy (RB) is the gold standard for managing central airway obstruction (CAO), a life-threatening condition caused by both malignant and benign etiologies. Anesthetic management is challenging as it requires balancing deep sedation with maintaining spontaneous breathing to avoid airway collapse. There is no consensus on the optimal anesthetic approach, with options including general anesthesia with neuromuscular blockers or spontaneous assisted ventilation (SAV).

The objective of regulatory authorities is to ensure a favourable risk-benefit balance for medicines in their licenced indication, without seeking to establish their place in the therapeutic armamentarium beyond that. The licenced indication covers heterogeneous subpopulations and often does not sufficiently specify the characteristics of the patients who may benefit. The regulatory information does not always show the benefit over the standard treatment(s); moreover, it only reacts to the conditions specified in the developer's application, and lacks an assessment of the clinical relevance of the benefit and its uncertainties.
