This work showed a flow system designed with solenoid valves for preconcentration of fluoride using SPADNS method in water samples. The analyte was preconcentrated in a mini-column coated with Layered Double Hydroxides (LDH) used as adsorbent. Then, the fluoride ions were eluted with 0.5molL sodium hydroxide and determined by spectrophotometry. The variables that affect the system such adsorbent mass, type of eluent, solutions flow rate, reagent concentration and pH effect were critically evaluated. Under optimized conditions, the detection limit, coefficient of variation, linear range and preconcentration factor were estimated at 15µgL (99.7% confidence level), 0.8% (500µgL, n = 10), 50-500µgL and 10, respectively. The accuracy of the method was evaluated by analysis of ALPHA APS 1076 (Simulated Rain Water) certified material, the values were not significantly different at a 95% level of confidence. The method was applied for fluoride determination in water samples and the levels found were below the maximum values established by Brazilian environmental and health legislations.

Highly efficient photocatalysts for degrading persistent antibiotics and synthetic dye pollutants under visible light are crucial for sustainable environmental remediation. In this study, we engineered a novel BiMoO (BMO)/NiAl-LDH (layered double hydroxide) hybrid catalyst with a unique 2D/2D heterostructure, optimized for the visible-light-driven elimination of ciprofloxacin (CPF) and hazardous synthetic dyes such as rhodamine B and methylene blue. The optimized BMO-30/LDH hybrid demonstrated exceptional photocatalytic performance, achieving nearly complete degradation of CPF and synthetic dyes with high mineralization efficiency, surpassing many previously reported state-of-the-art photocatalysts.

Introduction: Interproximal attachment has received much attention in modern periodontology because it is a key diagnostic and prognostic factor. Currently, we can find many articles with results of bare root coverage, but few data and studies that describe root closure and obtaining interproximal attachment at the same time.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to introduce a double-layer tunnel surgical technique for gingival papilla reconstruction and regeneration of the supraalveolar interproximal attachment.

Due to their high energy density, low cost, and environmental friendliness, aqueous zinc-ion batteries are considered a potential alternative to Li-ion batteries. However, dendrite growth and parasitic reactions of water molecules limit their practical applications. Herein, an ionic liquid additive, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium Bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (BMImFSI), is introduced to regulate the electrical double layer (EDL).

Tannic acid (TA), as a plant polyphenol, has many active sites for chelation with metals, so TA-oligomers (TA-Olig) were used for the first time as ligands on the surface of Ce-Mn-LDH to prepare the layered double hydroxide-based metal-organic framework (Ce-Mn-LDH@CPTMS@TA-Olig@Co-MOF = E) nanocomposite. In this regard, a homogeneous water/ethanol solution was prepared by sol-gel method using polyethylene glycol and ammonia solution, and then TA was converted into a set of oligomers in the presence of formaldehyde. In the next step, Ce-Mn-LDH was prepared in a ratio of 1 : 4 of Ce to Mn, modified with 3-chloropropylmethoxysilane, functionalized by TA-Olig, and then cobalt salt was used to prepare E.

The combination of microparticles (MPs) with dissolving microneedles (DMN) represents a promising transdermal approach for the sustained release of biomacromolecule drug. In this study, we developed a double-layered microparticles-dissolving microneedle (MPs-DMN) system, which strategically concentrates PLGA MPs at the tip of the microneedle to achieve sustained release of peptide drugs through transdermal delivery. We selected exenatide (EXT) as a model peptide drug and established HPLC-UV and UPLC-MS methods for the quantitative analysis of the drug content of MPs-DMN and drug concentrations in plasma.
