Background: Postoperative sore throat (POST) is a significant adverse effect after endotracheal intubation, especially with double-lumen endotracheal tubes (DLTs). Ultrasound-guided internal branch of the superior laryngeal nerve block (US-guided iSLNB) presents a potential intervention for POST. In this first randomized controlled trial to date, we aimed to investigate the effects of US-guided iSLNB, with or without perineural dexmedetomidine, on the incidence and severity of POST following DLTs.

Background Lung resection is a complex surgical procedure performed in children to address various pulmonary conditions. The success of this surgical intervention in these patients lies in a multidisciplinary approach, with anesthetic management playing a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of the procedure. Methods After approval by the local ethics committee, clinical data of 17 pediatric patients who underwent lung resection in our hospital from January 2012 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.

Objective: To compare the effects of unilateral thoracic paravertebal block with lidocaine on hemodynamic and the level of consciousness during double lumen endotracheal intubation.
Methods: From June to october 2021, a total of 40 patients American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status Ⅰ-Ⅱ, aged 19-65 years, scheduled for elective thoracic sugeries in Peking University International Hospital block with under general anesthesia requiring orotracheal intubation were recruited and divided into two groups: The double-lumen endobronchial intubation (group C) and double-lumen endobronchial intubation after thoracic paravertebal block with lidocaine (group P). After an intravenous anesthetic induction, the orotracheal double-lumen intubation was performed using a Macintosh direct laryngoscopy, respectively.

Objective: This study aimed to examine the potential benefits of Thoracic Paravertebral Nerve Block (TPVB) coupled with Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) and the maintenance of spontaneous breathing anesthesia, in contrast to general anesthesia utilizing double-lumen endobronchial intubation, on promoting recovery following thoracoscopic surgery.
Patients And Methods: A randomized controlled trial was carried out involving sixty patients set for Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) at the Affiliated People's Hospital of Jiangsu University from February 2021 to January 2022. Patients were randomized to either the TPVB and LMA with spontaneous breathing anesthesia group (non-intubation group, NI group) or the general anesthesia with double-lumen endobronchial intubation group (Intubation group, I group).
