Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is increasingly prevalent, and systemic inflammation markers may play a role in its pathogenesis. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between neutrophil-albumin ratio (NAR) and MAFLD.
Methods: This population-based study was performed using data from NHANES 2017-2018 and included 4526 individuals with a median age of 44 years old, and the males account for 46.

Introduction: Multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria like Proteus species have led to more prolonged hospitalizations, fewer care choices, higher treatment costs, and even death. The present study aims to evaluate the prevalence of MDR Proteus species in clinical samples and to suggest the best therapeutic options for the MDR Proteus species.
Methodology: Clinical samples were collected randomly from five hospitals in Golestan Province, Iran, from February 2017 to July 2019.

Background: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death globally. Demographic, behavioral, socioeconomic, health care, and psychosocial variables considered risk factors for CVD are routinely measured in population health surveys, providing opportunities to examine health transitions. Studying the drivers of health transitions in countries where multiple burdens of disease persist (eg, South Africa), compared with countries regarded as models of "epidemiologic transition" (eg, England), can provide knowledge on where best to intervene and direct resources to reduce the disease burden.

AS3MT, GSTO2, and GSTP1 genes play important roles in the arsenic biotransformation pathway, while CYP2E1 gene has a prominent role in the metabolic activation of xenobiotics. Hence, polymorphisms of these genes might have an effect on arsenic biotransformation and could impact susceptibility to arsenical skin lesions in individuals of chronic arsenic toxicity. The present case-control study, comprising 148 subjects, attempted to evaluate genetic association between nine polymorphisms of AS3MT, GSTO2, GSTP1 and CYP2E1 genes and arsenical skin lesions in a West Bengal (WB) population.
