Nuclear medicine has seen impressive growth in recent years. An important development in this field occurred through the application of new radionuclides, e.g., Zr (t = 78.4 h, β+ 0.396 MeV), the physical properties of which allow the use of antibodies as biological vectors for specific cancer targeting in combination with high resolution imaging by positron emission tomography (PET). The most commonly used chelator for Zr-based PET imaging is the hexadentate desferrioxamine (DFO) chelator. However, due to the instability of this complex, there has been a strong push towards the development of octadentate chelators. We report an ether derivative, oxoDFO*, resembling the motif of DFO with four hydroxamic acid groups for the binding of the radiometal and four ether linkages to increase the water solubility. Very importantly, the synthesis of this chelator follows a solid phase-assisted approach allowing for the development of an attractive synthetic methodology and widening the scope for the access to DFO-like chelators in highly efficient synthetic sequences.

Identification and pretreatment analysis of endogenous metabolites of patulin (PAT) in zebrafish were successfully carried out using UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap-HRMS. Three major metabolites, namely hydroascladiol, E-ascladiol, and Z-ascladiol, were identified. They exhibited similar fragmentation pathways to PAT, with the structurally significant ions *b' and *c' generated through the cleavage of the side chains of *b and *c, respectively.

Efforts to lower the operating temperature of solid oxide fuel cells include producing electrolytes that are sufficiently conductive and stable below 600 °C. Doped ceria is one such electrolyte being considered. During this study, codoped ceria powders (CeSmMO, M = Bi, Zn and = 0, 0.

Heparan sulfate (HS) regulates a wide range of biological events, including blood coagulation, cancer development, cell differentiation, and viral infections. It is generally recognized that structures of HS can critically impact its biological functions. However, with complex structures of naturally existing HS, systematic investigations into the structure-activity relationship (SAR) of HS and efforts to unlock their "sulfation code" have been largely limited due to the challenges in preparing diverse HS oligosaccharide sequences.

Sequence-defined lipo-oligomers generated via solid-phase assisted synthesis have been developed as siRNA delivery systems for RNA-interference (RNAi) based gene silencing. Here, novel siRNA lipo-polyplexes were established, which were postmodified with monovalent or bivalent DBCO-PEG agents terminated with peptide GE11 (YHWYGYTPQNVI) for epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-targeted siRNA delivery into EGFR-positive tumor cells. Lipo-oligomers containing eight cationizable succinoyltetraethylene-pentamine (Stp) units mediated higher siRNA nanoparticle core stability than those containing four Stp units, and the incorporation of histidines for enhanced endosomal buffer capacity resulted in an improved gene silencing efficiency.

Artificial superhydrophobic coatings with mechanical stability, chemical stability, and strong adhesion have been achieved separately. However, a simultaneous demonstration of these features along with stability to high-temperature exposure is challenging. Herein, inspired by the micro/nanoscale hierarchical superhydrophobic surfaces of solid cactus plants, we propose a novel plasma-enhanced high temperature liquid-phase-assisted oxidation and crosslinking (PHLOC) in-situ co-growth strategy to design superhydrophobic nanocomposite coatings on metals based on organic-inorganic multilayer structures in which PTFE nanoparticles cross-linked to form a compact top layer with hierarchical surface textures on a ceramic skeleton with a papilla array, integrating multiple robust wettability characteristics with mechanochemical strength to isolate the underlying materials from the external environment.
