In aeroponic cultivation the nutrient solution is an essential component to achieve good production results. And nitrogen is the main constituent element of the nutrient solution and essential element in plant nutrition. Therefore, the management and monitoring nutrient solution and existing nitrogen is fundamental. The experiment shows that three modes of replacing the nutrient solution and three initial pH values and their interaction significantly influenced the fresh weight and dry matter of lettuce. The highest values of fresh and dry weight were recorded in the fifth treatment where there is an interaction between pH 6 and the mode of replacing half of the nutrient solution. The consumption rate of nitrate nitrogen (NO-N), ammonium nitrogen (NH-N) and gross nitrogen (GN) was higher during stage 1 (10 days after transplanting), especially for the mode of complete replacing nutrient solution.

Fruits and vegetables offer substantial nutritional and health benefits, but their short shelf life necessitates effective preservation methods. Conventional drying techniques, while efficient, often lead to deterioration in food quality. Recent advancements highlight the potential of infrared blanching (IRB) as a preparatory process to improve drying outcomes.

Environmental concerns stemming from the widespread use of polyethylene packaging and the perishability of fresh products have promoted the development of antimicrobial biodegradable packaging films in preservation of vegetables. In this study, antimicrobial films based on chitosan (CS)-nisin (Ni)-nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC) were characterized, and its preservation effect applied to baby cabbage was investigated. The results suggest that 1 % CS-0.

In this study, we compared the Sol-Char sanitation system with an Anaerobic Digestion (AD) system using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate their environmental impacts. Since both systems offer opportunities for human waste treatment and resource recovery, understanding their performance is crucial. This comparison aims to determine their environmental impacts while considering diverse factors, such as energy production and nutrient recovery.

Neutrophils are pivotal in the immune system and have been recognized as significant contributors to cancer development and progression. These cells undergo metabolic reprogramming in response to various stimulus, including infections, diseases, and the tumor microenvironment (TME). Under normal conditions, neutrophils primarily rely on aerobic glucose metabolism for energy production.
