Background: Riparian zones are vital transitional habitats that bridge the gap between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. They support elevated levels of biodiversity and provide an array of important regulatory and provisioning ecosystem services, of which, many are fundamentally important to human well-being, such as the maintenance of water quality and the mitigation of flood risk along waterways. Increasing anthropogenic pressures resulting from agricultural intensification, industry development and the expansion of infrastructure in tropical regions have led to the widespread degradation of riparian habitats resulting in biodiversity loss and decreased resilience to flooding and erosion.

State Key Laboratory for Sheep Genetic Improvement and Healthy Production, Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural and Reclamation Science, Shihezi, 832000, Xinjiang, China.

Escherichia coli has become a common causative agent of infections in animals, inflicting serious economic losses on livestock production and posing a threat to public health. Escherichia coli infection is common and tends to be complex in Xinjiang, a major region of cattle and sheep breeding in China. This study aims to explore the current status and molecular characteristics of Escherichia coli infection in cattle and sheep in Xinjiang, as part of the disease prevention and control strategy.

Myelomatous bone disease is a complication characterized by lytic bone lesions, reduced bone formation, bone pain, and increased fracture risk. Understanding these underlying mechanisms is crucial for developing effective therapeutic approaches. Here we show the role of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) in bone lesions induced by myeloma cells.

Background: Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are severe complications of diabetes, posing significant health and societal challenges. Accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and elevated glucose levels are primary factors affecting diabetic wound healing. Achieving effective treatment by reducing ROS alone is challenging, as high glucose levels continuously drive ROS production.
