The Al=Al double bond is elusive in chemistry. Herein we report the results obtained via combined photoelectron spectroscopy and ab initio studies of the LiAl H cluster that confirm the formation of a conventional Al=Al double bond. Comprehensive searches for the most stable structures of the LiAl H cluster have shown that the global minimum isomer I possesses a geometric structure which resembles that of Si H , demonstrating a successful example of the transmutation of Al atoms into Si atoms by electron donation. Theoretical simulations of the photoelectron spectrum discovered the coexistence of two isomers in the ion beam, including the one with the Al=Al double bond.

Patients with diabetes polyneuropathy are at a heightened risk for developing foot ulcers, often due to dynamic plantar foot pressure patterns that lead to increased pressure and shear forces in specific foot areas. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of foot insoles on peak pressure and the pressure-time integral in patients with polyneuropathy diabetic foot ulcers over a twelve-week period followed by an eight-week follow up. : This was a prospective, randomized, double-blinded, controlled clinical trial involving 60 patients aged between 50 and 65 years of both genders.

The inevitable dealumination process of zeolite Y is closely related to ultrastabilization, enhanced Bro̷nsted acidity, and deactivation throughout its life cycle, producing complex aluminum and acidic hydroxyl species. Most investigations on dehydrated zeolites have focused on the Bro̷nsted acidity of tetra-coordinated Al (Al(IV)) and Lewis acidity associated with tricoordinated Al (Al(III)) sites, which has left the penta-coordinated Al (Al(V)) in dealuminated zeolites scarcely discussed. This is largely due to the oversimplified view of detectable Al(V) as an exclusively extra-framework species with Lewis acidity.

Careful analysis of the crystals formed in the reduction of ArAlI (Ar=CH-2,6-(CH-2,4,6-Pr)-3,5-Pr) with sodium on sodium chloride showed them to contain the long sought-after dialuminene ArAlAlAr (1) that forms alongside the previously characterized alanediyl :AlAr. The single crystal X-ray structure of 1 revealed a nearly planar, trans-bent C(ipso)AlAlC(ipso) core with an Al-Al distance of 2.648(2) Å.

Despite the isovalency between Al and B elements, Al-doping in boron clusters can deviate substantially from an isoelectronic substitution process. We report herein on a unique sandwich di-Al-doped boron cluster, AlB, using global structural searches and quantum chemical calculations. The cluster features a perfectly planar B molecular wheel, with two isolated Al atoms symmetrically floating above and below it.
