Five deep blue carbene-based iridium(III) phosphors were synthesized and characterized. Interestingly, one of them can be fabricated into deep blue, sky blue and white organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) through changing the host materials and exciton blocking layers. These deep and sky blue devices exhibit Commission Internationale de l'Éclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.145, 0.186) and (0.152, 0.277) with external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 15.2% and 9.6%, respectively. The EQE of the deep blue device can be further improved up to 19.0% by choosing a host with suitable energy level of its lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO).

Background: Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD), which includes cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) and arteriolosclerosis, often co-occurs with Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology. The medial temporal lobe (MTL) is susceptible to hosting multiple AD pathologies, such as neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs), amyloid-β plaques, phospho-Tar-DNA-Binding-Protein-43 (pTDP-43), as well as CSVD. Whether a causal relationship between these pathologies exists remains largely unknown, but one potential linking mechanism is the dysfunction of perivascular clearance.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) related pathologies (i.e., neurofibrillary tangles [NFTs], amyloid-β plaques, and phosphorylated-TAR-DNA-binding-protein-43 [pTDP-43]) differ across sexes.

Background: The lateral entorhinal cortex (LEC), followed by area CA1 of hippocampus, are interconnected brain areas implicated early in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Processing of LEC input by CA1 pyramidal neurons (PNs) is critical for non-spatial memory, in which deficits are seen in early AD. How this process is affected by tauopathy is unclear.

Fully π-conjugated polymers consisting of plane and rigid aromatic units present a fantastic optoelectronic property, a promising candidate for printed and flexible optoelectronic devices. However, obtaining high-performance conjugated polymers with an excellent intrinsically flexible and printable capacity is a great challenge due to their inherent coffee-ring effect and brittle properties. Here, we report an asymmetric substitution strategy to improve the printable and stretchable properties of deep-blue light-emitting conjugated polymers with a strong inter-aggregate capillary interaction for flexible printed polymer light-emitting diodes.

Objective: To explore whether Ph acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) cell line SUP-B15 treated with imatinib occurs a tolerant status charactered by cell proliferation suppression but apoptotic resistance, then evaluate whether IGF1-R inhibitor AEW541 can break this tolerance, and further explain its mechanisms.
Methods: SUP-B15 cells were treated with different concentrations of imatinib or AEW541. Cell proliferation was assayed by Deep Blue, and apoptotic cells were determined by Annexin V/7-AAD staining.
