Background: Nosocomial pneumonia is common in trauma patients and associated with an adverse prognosis. We recently externally validated and recalibrated an existing formula to predict nosocomial pneumonia risk. Identifying more potential predictors could aid in a more accurate prediction of nosocomial pneumonia risk in level-1 trauma patients.

Background: Long-term patterns of functional outcome after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) have not been well elucidated in population-based studies from low- and middle-income countries. The aim of this study was to define long-term functional outcomes, associated prognostic factors, and recovery patterns for patients with acute ICH.
Methods: We conducted a prospective population-based stroke incidence study in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, with prospective follow-up.

Portopulmonary hypertension (POPH), a form of pulmonary artery hypertension, occurs because of portal hypertension. Pulmonary hemodynamics and right heart function are key entities that are considered when diagnosing and treating POPH. Medical management, combined with liver transplantation, offers a unique opportunity of POPH "cure," however transplant risk can be significant as it relates to the severity of POPH.

Aims: This study seeks to evaluate the prognostic significance of eGDR in predicting mortality outcomes within non-diabetic older adults.
Methods: 8131 non-diabetic participants aged ≥60 years from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2001-2018) was included in this study. eGDR was calculated as: eGDR (mg/kg/min) = 21.

Background: Septic shock is defined as sepsis with hypotension requiring vasopressors to maintain a mean arterial pressure above 65 mmHg and having a serum lactate level of more than 2 mmol/L despite adequate volume resuscitation as per the Sepsis-3 criteria. Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is commonly utilized in septic shock patients for the treatment of acute kidney injury as well as for modulating immune response and maintaining hemodynamic stability.
Methods: We looked at the National Inpatient Sample database in 2019.
