This study aims to build an optimal drug delivery system by manufacturing and evaluating a hydrogel contact lens using Tretinoin (ATRA) and protein nanoparticles to improve the drug delivery system as an ophthalmic medical contact lens. To evaluate the optical and physical properties of the manufactured lens, the spectral transmittance, refractive index, water content, contact angle, AFM, tensile strength, drug delivery, and antibacterial properties were analyzed. The contact lens was manufactured to contain ATRA and bovine serum albumin (BSA) in different ways, and the results confirmed that A, B, and C each had different physical properties.

This paper presents an automated method for solving the initial structure of compact, high-zoom-ratio mid-wave infrared (MWIR) zoom lenses. Using differential analysis, the focal length variation process of zoom lenses under paraxial conditions is investigated, and a model for the focal power distribution and relative motion of three movable lens groups is established. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is introduced into the zooming process analysis, and a program is developed in MATLAB to solve for the initial structure.

To compare the accuracy of seven artificial intelligence (AI)-based intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation formulas in medium-long Caucasian eyes regarding the root-mean-square absolute error (RMSAE), the median absolute error (MedAE) and the percentage of eyes with a prediction error (PE) within ±0.5 D. Data on Caucasian patients who underwent uneventful phacoemulsification between May 2018 and September 2023 in MW-Med Eye Center, Krakow, Poland and Kyiv Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital Eye Microsurgery Center, Kyiv, Ukraine were reviewed.

Purpose: Peripheral optics have been suggested to play a role in myopia progression, with accommodation responses also considered a potential contributor. This study aimed to investigate whether modifications in peripheral optics through different spectacle lenses affect accommodation responses.
Methods: Dynamic accommodation responses were assessed using a double-pass instrument while switching the target from distance (3 m for 3 seconds) to near (0.
