Bioanalysis of ester prodrugs represents a great analytical challenge due to poor matrix stability in the presence of esterases. Materials & methods: An approach that includes pH control, temperature and the use of an inhibitor (sodium fluoride, NaF) was employed for complete stabilization of an ester prodrug and its corresponding acid metabolite. Stability information was used to design a methodology with negligible ex vivo hydrolysis of the ester to the corresponding acid analyte during all critical parts of bioanalysis. Results & conclusion: The assay was fully validated to regulatory expectations and employed to support a preclinical Good Laboratory Practice study in rats. Incurred sample reanalysis was also conducted and the percent difference between repeat and original results were within ±20%, thus confirming the repeatability of the assay.

This review article discusses the emerging amino-terephthalonitrile (Am-TN) and amino terephthalate-based single benzene fluorophores (SBFs) for their highly emissive nature and potential for numerous technical applications. Am-TN-SBFs are a new class of SBFs having amine as the electron donating (EDG) and dinitrile as the electron withdrawing group (EWG). The beauty of these Am-TN-SBFs lies in excellent intramolecular charge transfer between the EDG and EWG.

Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) inhibitor is a target for both lowering low-density lipoproteins and raising high-density lipoproteins. Anacetrapib was the lead compound in our cholesteryl ester transfer protein inhibitor program. Preclinical studies were initiated to support the safety of anacetrapib deposition in adipose tissue, followed by a clinical trial to evaluate the effects of anacetrapib in people with vascular disease.

Herein, the expedient synthesis of two novel thiol-functionalized benzosiloxaboroles 1e and 2e is reported. The presence of the SH group allowed for diverse structural modifications involving the thiol-Michael addition, oxidation, as well as nucleophilic substitution giving rise to a series of 27 new benzosiloxaboroles containing various polar functional groups, , carbonyl, ester, amide, imide, nitrile, sulfonyl and sulfonamide, and pendant heterocyclic rings.

In the circular economy framework, hydrosols, by-products of the essential oil industry, are gaining attention for their potential in waste reduction and resource reuse. This study analyzed hydrosols from six edible flowers, investigating their chemical composition (VOC-Hyd) and antibacterial properties alongside volatile organic compounds of fresh flowers (VOC-Fs) and essential oils (EOs). exhibited ketones as major VOC-Fs (62.
