Isotope Exchange processes are becoming the preferred way to prepare isotopically labelled molecules, avoiding the redesign of multistep synthetic protocols. In the case of deuterium incorporation, the most used strategy has employed transition metals, that offer high reactivity under mild reaction conditions. Hybrid coordination polimers based on AgX (with X = Cl, Br) and 2-, 3-, 4-picolylamine ligands, obtained by means of solvent-free methods, show peculiar luminescence properties that are strongly influenced by their structural motif, which in turn is defined by the adopted isomer of the ligand. A comprehensive study, combining photophysical methods and DFT calculations, allowed to rationalize the emissive behaviour of such hybrid coordination polymers in relation to their crystal structures and electronic properties. By means of luminescence measurements at variable temperatures, the nature of the emissive excited states and their deactivation dynamics was interpreted, revealing XMLCT transitions in the [(AgX)(2-pica)] compounds, a TADF behaviour in the case of 3-pica derivatives, and a dual emission at room temperature for the [(AgX)(4-pica)] family.

Bladder melanosis is a rare and poorly understood condition involving melanin pigmentation within the urothelial mucosa. Cases often present with haematuria, urinary obstructive symptoms, or cystitis. While generally considered benign, its potential association with malignancy warrants regular monitoring, as cases have previously been reported of an association with urothelial carcinoma and melanoma, although it is unclear whether there is a causal relationship.

The majority of enantioselective organocatalytic reactions occur in apolar or weakly polar organic solvents. Nevertheless, the influence of solute-solvent van der Waals forces on the relative kinetics of competitive pathways remains poorly understood. In this study, we provide a first insight into the nature and strength of these interactions at the transition state level using advanced computational tools, shedding light into their influence on the selectivity.
