Cognitive impairment and dementia have long been recognized as growing public health threats. Studies have found that air pollution is a potential risk factor for dementia, but the literature remains inconclusive. This study aimed to evaluate the association between three major air pollutants (i.

The presence of Hg causes substantial stress to plants, adversely affecting growth and health by disrupting cell cycle divisions, photosynthesis, and ionic homeostasis. Accurate visualization of the spatiotemporal distribution of Hg in plant tissues is crucial for the management of Hg pollution; however, the related research is still at its early stage. Herein, a small-molecule amphiphilic fluorescent probe (termed ) was developed for the specific detection of Hg with a high sensitivity (~16 nM).

Soil microplastics (MPs) pollution has garnered considerable attention in recent years. The use of biodegradable plastics for mulching has led to significant quantities of plastic entering agro-ecosystems. However, the effects of biodegradable polylactic acid (PLA) plastics on meadow soils remain underexplored.

Gelation and gel properties are crucial to surimi-based seafood products, and many factors significantly influence surimi gel quality. Although physical and chemical modifications can improve surimi gel performance, challenges such as high cost, difficulties in industrialization and environmental pollution pose significant barriers to their practicality. Natural additives offer a promising alternative by reinforcing and improving the characteristics of surimi gel through mechanisms such as protein conformational transformation, protein denaturation, and altered chemical forces.

Methylene blue (MB) contamination has become a significant environmental issue due to its widespread presence in industrial effluents, posing serious threats to ecosystems and human health. As a result, there is an urgent need for the development of novel adsorbent materials that can effectively remove these pollutants from water sources. In this context, the present study focuses on the design and synthesis of two coordination polymers (CPs) containing Zn(II) and Mn(II), namely, {[Mn(L)(tib)]·4HO} (1) and [Zn(L)(3,5-bibp)] (2), using a combined-ligand approach under solvothermal conditions.
