Background: Over the past decade, diabetes mellitus (DM) has emerged as a growing epidemic, with a direct link to an increased risk of hospitalization and a strong effect of glycemic control on clinical outcomes. The aim of this document was to critically appraise and adapt existing clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) to provide specific recommendations for the management of hyperglycemia in hospitalized adults with and without previously known DM, in an attempt to provide a practical tool to reduce the risk of major in-hospital complications.
Methods: The first step of the adaptation process was to identify unsolved clinical questions (PICOs) in hospitalized persons with hyperglycemia.

Veterinary guidelines have been published in the Netherlands to promote antimicrobial stewardship. An evidence-based intervention program using Implementation Mapping and performance indicators was developed to enhance veterinarians' adherence to the veterinary guideline "Streptococcus suis in weaned pigs". The present study evaluates the effect of this eight-month intervention program in a multicenter, pragmatic, stepped-wedge cluster design trial.

Since the first use of embolization for cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) by Luessenhop and Spence in 1960, this procedure has become a cornerstone in the multimodal treatment approach for brain AVMs. Currently, in the United States, the main embolic agents employed are n-butyl cyanoacrylate (NBCA) and Onyx (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN). This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to compare these two agents in terms of efficacy and safety.

Background: Management of opioid withdrawal in hospital settings is crucial to improve treatment completion and health outcomes among patients who use opioids, such as heroin. Evidence-based clinical guidelines can support responsive provision of opioid substitution therapy (OST). In England there is no standardised application of guidance for substance dependence management across National Health Service (NHS) Hospitals.
