The terahertz band is an increasingly important spectrum in a wide range of applications from bioimaging and medical diagnostics to security and wireless communications. We propose a tunable terahertz coherent radiation source based on graphene plasmon-induced transition radiation. The transition radiation in terahertz regime arises from the graphene plasmons, which are excited by a normally incident bunched electron beam. We analyze the field-intensities and spectral-angular distributions of the transition radiation with respect to Fermi energy, substrate dielectric permittivity, and electron bunch energy for both the coherent and incoherent radiation. The effect of electron bunching on the radiation pattern is discussed. The mechanism of plasmon frequency-selective transition radiation is discovered.

Multifunctional hardware technologies for neuromorphic computing are essential for replicating the complexity of biological neural systems, thereby improving the performance of artificial synapses and neurons. Integrating ionic and spintronic technologies offers new degrees of freedom to modulate synaptic potentiation and depression, introducing novel magnetic functionalities alongside the established ionic analogue behavior. We demonstrate that magneto-ionic devices can perform as synaptic elements with dynamically tunable depression linearity controlled by an external magnetic field, a functionality reminiscent of neuromodulation in biological systems.

Using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and density functional theory (DFT), an experimental and theoretical study of changes in the electronic structure (dispersion dependencies) and corresponding modification of the energy band gap at the Dirac point (DP) for topological insulator (TI) [Formula: see text] have been carried out with gradual replacement of magnetic Mn atoms by non-magnetic Ge atoms when concentration of the latter was varied from 10% to 75%. It was shown that when Ge concentration increases, the bulk band gap decreases and reaches zero plateau in the concentration range of 45-60% while trivial surface states (TrSS) are present and exhibit an energy splitting of 100 and 70 meV in different types of measurements. It was also shown that TSS disappear from the measured band dispersions at a Ge concentration of about 40%.

Colon cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide, necessitating advancements in therapeutic strategies to improve outcomes. Current treatment modalities, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, are limited by systemic toxicity, low drug utilization rates, and off-target effects. Colon-targeted drug delivery systems (CDDS) offer a promising alternative by leveraging the colon's unique physiology, such as near-neutral pH and extended transit time, to achieve localized and controlled drug release.

A series of Si-H- or Si-Vi-terminated, branched and linear oligomers containing MeSiO segments were prepared by equilibrium polymerization or non-equilibrium polymerization initiated by living anions, respectively. These oligomers were used to improve the defects of concentrated crosslinking points and the high hardness of crosslinked products when using phenyltris(dimethylsiloxy)silane or 1,1,5,5-tetramethyl-3,3-diphenyl trisiloxane as crosslinking agents in the preparation of silicone gel. NMR, FT-IR, and GPC characterized the structure and molecular weight information of the prepared oligomers.
