A Technetium Tc labeled lyophilized single component kit of N-N-ethylene-I-dicysteine (EC) is developed to replace multiple step kit developed by others. The aim of study is to formulate a radionuclide that is easy to prepare, has rapid plasma clearance, produce high quality images and is an affective alternative to radioiodine labeled orthoiodohippurate, which has been remained the physiological 'gold standard' since long time. To achieve this goal, the systematically varied key parameters such as pH, the use of reducing agents, stabilizers and additives are optimized to obtain maximum radiochemical purity and optimum biodistribution in non human and human primates. Various pH levels of EC showed equally good results in animal experiments but only pH 10 was suitable for human use. Dynamic and renal Scintigraphic studies are carried out with Tc-EC at pH 8 in 12 volunteers and at pH 10 in 18 volunteers and compared with Tc-MAG3, Background ratios, renograms, relative renal function and semi quantitative parameters are available in all studies. The background ratios (mean ± SD) at 30th minute are 0229±0.024 and 0.236±0.018 for Tc-EC at pH 10 and Tc-MAG3 respectively. The mean ± standard error of mean (SEM) values of TMAX and time to half activity (T12) for Tc-EC (pH10) are 3.7±0.6 and 7.3±1.0 respectively while for Tc-MAG3, they are 4.0±0.8 and 7.9±1.4 with p values 0.001 and 0.049 respectively. The values of relative renal function (RRF) for Tc-EC and Tc-MAG3 are 50.8±3.11 and 51.2±3.4 respectively with p value of 0.822. The residual activity at 25th minute (A25 / A MAX) and renal uptake are 0. 209±12.67±2.80 for Tc-EC and 0.218±0.035 and 1053±2.98 for Tc-MAG3 (p=0.031 an 0.0003) respectively. The correlation coefficient (R2) for TMAX, T, A25/AMAX and renal uptake are 0.96, 0.69, 0.93 and 0.85 respectively.

Monitoring stress-related faecal glucocorticoid metabolite (fGCM) concentrations is a reliable, popular and established approach for understanding wildlife responses to perceived stressors. To maintain fGCM integrity post-defaecation, faecal material must be promptly stored frozen, or dried to prevent continued suspected bacterial enzyme activity. We compare the effectiveness of freeze-drying with other field-friendly drying techniques (food dehydrator and homemade solar oven).

Here, hybrid stimuli-responsive (exhibiting pyroelectricity and piezoelectricity) porous cryogels are engineered by embedding tourmaline nanoparticles (TNs) in a cellulose nanofiber (CNF) skeleton to generate high-performance CNF-TN-based airborne particulate matter (PM) filters. First, single-layer hybrid cryogels with varying TN contents (0-5% w v) are assembled, and the design principles for multilayered filters are established based on a novel sequential pre-freezing and freeze-drying technique. As observed, the embedded TNs transformed the CNF network into a more homogeneous, isotropic, and firm structure, thus improving the structural integrity and thermal stability of the assembled cryogels while maintaining their ultrahigh porosity and low density.

Purpose: This research aimed to explore the clinical efficacy of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in treating children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Methods: In this single-arm prospective study, every participant received FMT therapy, followed by an 8-week follow-up. Children unable to swallow lyophilized capsules (Caps) received fecal solution through transendoscopic enteral tube (TET) or nasal jejunal tube (NJT) approaches.

Injectable subcutaneous fillers are used in medical aesthetics primarily to correct skin wrinkles. The limitations of collagen fillers include rapid degradation, lack of collagen regeneration effects and high-frequency injections. The regenerative filler of Sculptra (Aesthetic) offers prolonged regenerative effects; however, the slow collagen regeneration results in prolonged waiting time for the filling effects.

Background: Adrenomedullin has angiogenic and vasoprotective effects in acute ischemic stroke (AIS). This investigator-initiated trial aimed to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and optimal administration of adrenomedullin in treating AIS.
Methods: In this single-center, multi-cohort, double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled, Phase II trial, patients with AIS received pulsed adrenomedullin (9 ng/kg/min for 8 h daily over 7 days) or placebo in the first-half cohort, and continuous-pulsed adrenomedullin (9 ng/kg/min for 72 h during the first 3 days and 8 h daily between Day 4-7) or placebo in the second-half cohort.
