The chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a frequent and increasing disease in Western countries. Psychiatric comorbidities, such as depression or anxiety, are often observed and have a major impact on the quality of life and on the prognosis of the patients. Several models based on physiopathological and behavioral psychotherapy researches help us to understand this association between somatic and psychiatric disease. The detection and the treatment of these comorbidities are challenges for the practitioner and make a multidisciplinary approach recommended. This article aims to summarize the current state of the knowledge in this domain and to present to the practitioners the various pharmacological and psychotherapeutic options.

Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) presents various clinical manifestations, including skin lesions, peripheral arthritis, axial involvement, enthesitis, nail involvement, dactylitis, and uveitis. In addition, it causes a high incidence of lifestyle-related diseases and an increase in cerebrovascular and cardiovascular events. As the pathology of PsA has been clarified, molecular-targeted drugs targeting tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-17A, IL-17A/F, IL-17 receptor, IL-12/23(p40), IL-23p19, Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte Antigen-4 (CTLA-4), Janus kinase, and phosphodiesterase-4 have been developed and are widely used in clinical practice.

Background: Management of the adult airway is one of the most stressful and time-critical procedures in emergency medicine. In the Cowichan District Hospital, a rural hospital in British Columbia, Emergency Department (ED) staff were uncomfortable with acquiring the equipment needed for adult advanced airway management and the mean length of time to acquire the equipment was 319 s. The aim of this quality improvement (QI) project was to decrease the time to obtain the equipment needed for adult advanced airway management by nurses and physicians in the Cowichan District Hospital ED to less than 90 s by May 2023.
