Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a significant cause of acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, and sudden death, particularly in young women and individuals with few conventional atherosclerotic risk factors, necessitating a high degree of suspicion. The most common risk factors for SCAD include atherosclerosis, females in the peripartum period, autoimmune inflammatory diseases, and connective tissue diseases. We present an unusual case of a young man who was initially suspected of having myocarditis, but cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) revealed an ischemic pattern in late gadolinium enhancement.

Bending rigidity, k, is classically measured for lipid membranes to characterize their nanoscale mechanical properties as a function of composition. Widely employed as a comparative tool, it helps understanding the relationship between the lipid's molecular structure and the elastic properties of its corresponding bilayer. Widely measured for phospholipid membranes in the shape of giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs), bending rigidity is determined here for three self-assembled structures formed by a new biobased glucolipid bioamphiphile, rather associated to the family of glycolipid biosurfactants than phospholipids.

A 41-year-old woman, never-smoker, accessed the emergency room for an episode of hemoptysis in September 2019. CT scan showed a defect of opacification in the left pulmonary artery and a solid mass of 12 cm in the left annex. PET confirmed high metabolic activity in the ovarian mass and, surprisingly, in the left hilar lung.

Tetrahedral liquids exhibit intriguing thermodynamic and transport properties because of the various ways tetrahedra can be packed and connected. Recently, an unusual temperature dependence of the stretching exponent β in a model tetrahedral liquid ZnCl2 from Tm + 85 K to Tm + 35 K has been reported using neutron-spin echo spectroscopy. This discovery stands in sharp contrast to other glass-forming liquids.
