Paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM) is a systemic granulomatous disease caused by or . It is a neglected tropical infectious disease that poses a major public health burden in endemic areas of Latin America. Mucosae of the upper digestive and respiratory tracts are commonly involved and many patients have disease at multiple mucosal sites, with or without lung involvement. Mucosal PCM presenting as solitary true vocal fold disease is relatively rare. We present the case of a 67-year-old Brazilian forest guard who presented with a 6-month history of hoarseness and due to a solitary left true vocal fold infiltration and vegetation diagnosed as PCM. Silent pulmonary disease was also present. A laryngoscopy video is offered as supplemental material to this report. He completely remitted after surgical removal and amphotericin B deoxycholate treatment.

Objective: Despite anecdotal evidence highlighting the benefits of singing teacher involvement in voice rehabilitation for effective and sustainable biopsychosocial treatment of vocal injury, singing teachers working as singing voice rehabilitation specialists (SVRS) in the United Kingdom (UK) have often been criticized for working beyond their scope of practice. With limited empirical research into the role, concern and confusion has fueled challenges to its legitimacy. The lack of regulation raises questions around safeguarding, skills, and demarcation of roles within the multidiscipline team.

Objectives: To investigate the incidence, laryngeal distribution, management, and postoperative clinical course of patients with newly diagnosed adult-onset recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) in Japan.
Methods: An initial brief questionnaire was sent to 782 institutions, including all 101 core and 627 collaborating institutions providing board certification programs accredited by the Japanese Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. A detailed questionnaire regarding patient age, sex, Derkay's score, surgery, and postoperative clinical course was sent to 196 institutions caring for patients with either newly or previously diagnosed RRP.

This study aims to explore the influence of vowels and sound intensity on formant, so as to provide reference for the selection of sound samples and vocal methods in acoustic detection. Thirty-eight healthy subjects, 19 male and 19 female, aged 19-24 years old were recruited. The formants of different vowels(/a/, //, /i/ and /u/) and different sound intensities(lowest sound, comfort sound, highest true sound and highest falsetto sound) were analyzed, and pairings were compared between groups with significant differences.

Objectives: Previous research has shown that instructed manipulation of the false vocal fold activity (FVFA), true vocal fold mass (TVFM), and larynx height (LH) impacted on voice quality. It is not known whether these manipulations have any effect on voice onset. Vocal Rise Time (VRT) is an objective acoustic measure of voice onset, which has potential as an assessment tool in clinical settings.
