Purpose: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive fibrotic lung disorder characterized by dry cough, fatigue, and exacerbated dyspnea. The prognosis of IPF is notably unfavorable, becoming extremely poor when the disease advances acutely. Effective therapeutic intervention is essential to mitigate disease progression; hence, early diagnosis and treatment are paramount.

However, informed decision-making is limited by the challenge of obtaining high-resolution thermal comfort data. This study introduces an interdisciplinary, low-resource, and user-friendly methodology for thermal comfort mapping, employing a self-built low-cost meteorological device for mobile climate monitoring.

Recently improved measurement methods of carotid-intima media thickness (CIMT) and carotid stiffness (CS) allow more differentiated analyses of this link. Background: Recent studies suggest genome-wide-association-studies (GWAS) loci confer their effects on microglia in late-onset Alzheimer's disease (LOAD) brains. Relatively fewer studies have investigated the effects of other genome-wide significant loci (p<5e) using human neurons.
Method: GWAS itself cannot directly identify causal variant-(effector)gene-pairs as GWAS only reports the sentinel variant at a given locus.
