Current staging systems are inadequate for evaluating the prognosis of patients with locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC, stages II-III). Therefore, we developed a serum microRNA (miRNA) signature to facilitate individualized management of these patients. Using microarray analysis, we analyzed 12 serum specimens based on different prognoses (good survival group, = 7; poor survival group, = 5).

MicroRNAs (miRNAs or miRs) contribute to the development of various malignant neoplasms, including glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). The present study aimed to explore the pathogenesis of GBM and to identify latent therapeutic agents for patients with GBM, based on an in silico analysis. Gene chips that provide miRNA expression profiling in GBM were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.

Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) are promising molecular biomarkers for the early detection of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). We investigated the serum miRNA expression profiles from microarray-based technologies and evaluated the diagnostic value of serum miRNAs as potential biomarkers for ESCC by using feature selection algorithms. Serum miRNA expression profiles were obtained from 52 ESCC patients and 52 age- and sex-matched controls via performing a high-throughput microarray assay.

It has been previously suggested that microRNAs (miRNAs) have a tendency to regulate the important components of biological networks. The goal of the present study was to systematically test if one can establish a relationship between miRNA targets and the important components of biological networks (including human protein-protein interaction network, signaling network and metabolic network). For this analysis, we have studied the attack robustness of these networks.
