Reducing waiting times for patients is a worthy goal for all healthcare professionals. The means and ability to carry out nerve conduction studies in the hand outpatient clinic has the potential to reduce waiting times between appointments for patients with upper limb neural compression. We assessed the pathway of patients presenting with upper limb neural compression in the Aneurin Bevan Trust. Overall, 115 patients were included, being assessed in four different patient pathway groups. We found that by implementing a nerve conduction clinic, and then that of a one stop clinic, we were able to reduce the median waiting times from referral to surgical intervention, to 133 days. The introduction of nerve conduction clinics allowed the one stop clinic to be established, achieving the goal of reducing patient waiting times.

WellBe Senior Medical, Atlanta, GA, USA.
Background: Sundowning is the development or progression of neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) often occurring in the afternoon or early evening. Noninvasive ambient sensors (NAS) monitor individuals without the need to wear a device or use a camera. The data from NAS sensors can identify movement patterns in the context of cyclomatic complexity to indicate when an individual may be sundowning.

Background: Disparities in the quality and timeliness of care for Alzheimer's disease (AD) are well documented. This study assessed the impact of demographic characteristics on the diagnosis and management of early AD patients in community-based settings.
Method: This cross-sectional study abstracted medical chart data for patients aged 50-89 years who had newly diagnosed early AD (mild cognitive impairment [MCI] or mild AD) within the past 2 years and a clinic visit within the past 12 months.

Background: Care partners (CPs) of people with dementia suffer from chronic stress impacting their mental and physical health. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) has been shown to reduce depressive symptoms in CPs. Mindfulness-Based Dementia Care (MBDC) is an adaptation of MBSR tailored to CPs.

Background: New immunotherapies for early-stage Alzheimer's disease (AD) have ushered in fresh hope for AD research and clinical care, but also highlight barriers to AD screening and timely diagnosis in the US. Digital cognitive assessments could potentially streamline screening and referrals for AD treatment and/or clinical trials. We report preliminary data on the feasibility and acceptability of three digital cognitive approaches for older adults completing Annual Wellness or routine follow-up visits with a primary care provider (PCP).
