Introduction: Partial anomalous pulmonary vein connections (PAPVC) are rare congenital abnormalities in which one or more pulmonary veins drain into the right atrium. This pathological condition may present in various ways, such as chest pain and dyspnea, or it may be diagnosed incidentally. Consequently, missed or late diagnoses are common, highlighting the importance of optimal diagnostic modalities.

Here we report the isolation of from a thoracic sample from a horse. A 17-y-old Hungarian Sport Horse mare was referred to the equine clinic of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, Hungary, with suspected pleuritis. Upon arrival, the horse was febrile and had tachycardia, severe inspiratory dyspnea, and tachypnea.

The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOCs) during the COVID-19 pandemic necessitates investigation into their clinical differentiation and outcomes. This study aimed to examine these differences among VOCs, considering multiple related factors. An observational cohort study was conducted on patients diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection via nasopharyngeal/oropharyngeal swab who visited the emergency department of a public Greek hospital between October 2020 and July 2022 during different VOC circulation in the region.
