In an effort to achieve high sensitive and selective detection of pesticide residues, numerous nanomaterial-based aptasensors are currently being developed for acetamiprid analysis. Recently, aptamers as a potent alternative of antibodies are used in biosensing platforms. There is tremendous interest in utilizing of nanomaterial as basic building blocks and signaling elements in aptasensors. The nanomaterials have the unique optical and electrical properties. The combination of nanomaterial and aptamer technology has opened a new window in pesticide residues monitoring. In this review, recent advances and applications of optical and electrochemical nanomaterial-based aptasensors for the detection and quantitative determination of acetamiprid in details have been discussed.

Background: Clinical assessments utilized in trials to measure progression in sporadic Alzheimer's disease (SAD) such as the MMSE, ADAS-Cog, CDR-SB and ADCS-ADL are well established. Distinct assessments are utilized for Down Syndrome-related Alzheimer's disease (DSAD). Although these assessments are less well established, they probe comparable domains of cognition and function.

Background: Across a broad range of physical and cognitive outcomes in gerontology and geriatric practice, it is fundamentally important to establish systems for clinical decision-making. Current technological solutions include sensors for monitoring movement activity, however many of these methods are complex, invasive, and dependent on factors such as compliance, context, and idyllic conditions. An alternative approach to monitoring is through continuously active, noninvasive radiofrequency (NRF) sensors.

Background: Screening for elder abuse can cause victims to experience feelings of unpleasantness and/or relive painful memories which can be an ethical concern. Ensuring the safety of all participants/users, in our case long-term care (LTC) residents, is of the utmost importance.

Method: Drawing from approaches used in the intimate partner violence and clinical trials literature, we developed a novel typology of harm and a series of procedures to evaluate any negative consequences that might be incurred as a result of participating in the Piloting the Elder Abuse Suspicion Index-long term care: A Mixed Methods Feasibility Study.

Department of Chemistry and Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Catalysis and Innovative Materials, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China.

Metal fatigue, characterized by the accumulation of dislocation defects, is a prevalent failure mode in structural materials. Nondestructive early-stage detection of metal fatigue is extremely important to prevent disastrous events and protect human life. However, the lack of a precise quantitative method to visualize fatigue with spatiotemporal resolution poses a significant obstacle to timely detection.

Background: Self-administered cognitive assessments demonstrate usability and ability to detect cognitive decline in Alzheimer's disease, but usability in other neurodegenerative diseases is understudied. We investigated whether Mayo Test Drive (MTD), a self-administered multi-device compatible cognitive assessment platform, demonstrates usability and correlation with traditional neuropsychological tests in a pilot study of individuals with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).

Method: Eleven individuals with PSP (mean age = 69.
