Application of the aza-Wittig reaction for the synthesis of carboranyl Schiff bases, benzothiazoles and benzoselenazolines.

Dalton Trans

January 2025

Departamento de Química Inorgánica, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, 15782 Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

The aza-Wittig reaction was successfully applied to the synthesis of carboranyl-imines, which are difficult to obtain by classical methods. A variety of functionalized carboranyl Schiff bases was obtained proving the great scope of the methodology. All compounds were fully characterized, including the solid-state structures of six of them.

Importance: There is a lack of long-term efficacy and safety data on hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis with polyneuropathy (hATTR-PN) and on RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutics in general. This study presents the longest-term data to date on patisiran for hATTR-PN.

Objective: To present the long-term efficacy and safety of patisiran in adults with hATTR-PN.

We present the synthesis, characterization, and photophysical properties of two pyrene-modified () pincer bismuth complexes, where the pyrenyl residues are either part of the cyclometalating pincer ligand (1) or bound as monodentate ligands to the Bi ion (2). Both complexes are dually emissive at 77 K. For complex 2, pyrenyl phosphorescence persists at r.

Flexible bis-benzimidazole-based V-shaped amphiphilic probes (1 and 2) that form a fluorescent nanoscopic assembly in aqueous media have been designed. The ion-binding properties of compound 1 are investigated in both polar protic (water) and aprotic (acetonitrile) solvents. In acetonitrile, the compound shows a distinct chromogenic response towards Hg (LOD: 8.

Preparation and preclinical evaluation of Ga-labeled alendronate analogs for diagnosis of bone metastases.

Dalton Trans

January 2025

Key Laboratory for Experimental Teratology of the Ministry of Education and Center for Experimental Nuclear Medicine, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Cheeloo College of Medicine, Shandong University, Jinan, Shandong, 250012, China.

Bone is one of the most common target organs for distant metastases of solid tumors, which imposes a heavy burden on society. Early diagnosis of bone metastases is of great significance and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging plays an important role in the diagnosis of bone metastases. PET tracers applied for diagnosing bone metastases are constantly being updated, but they all have certain limitations like a relatively low bone/kidney ratio or no capacity to label therapeutic radionuclides.
