As scientific publishing has transitioned online, open access and predatory publishers have surged. This study describes the frequency of publications in potentially predatory and open access journals among applicants to a Canadian plastic surgery residency program, and explores applicant characteristics associated with open access and predatory publishing. A retrospective review of plastic surgery resident applicants' curriculum vitae (CVs) from 2015 to 2018 was performed.

Background: Argan oil (AO) is a vegetable oil extracted from the fruits of Argania spinosa L. tree, belonging to the Sapotaceae family, primarily found in Morocco. Research studies have demonstrated that AO exhibits diverse pharmacological properties, including antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer, antiinflammatory, antidiabetic, antihypercholesterolemic, antiatherogenic, and immunomodulatory effects.

Chemical synthesis, while well-established, fails to produce specific stereoisomers, and its application is limited to animal feed due to concerns about chemical residues and limited bioactivity.
