Reintroduction biology is a field of scientific research that aims to inform translocations of endangered species. We review two decades of published literature to evaluate whether reintroduction science is evolving in its decision-support role, as called for by advocates of evidence-based conservation. Reintroduction research increasingly addresses a priori hypotheses, but remains largely focused on short-term population establishment. Similarly, studies that directly assist decisions by explicitly comparing alternative management actions remain a minority. A small set of case studies demonstrate full integration of research in the reintroduction decision process. We encourage the use of tools that embed research in decision-making, particularly the explicit consideration of multiple management alternatives because this is the crux of any management decisions.

Lecanemab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody binding with high affinity to protofibrils of amyloid-beta (Aβ) protein. In 18-month clinical studies, lecanemab has been shown to reduce a complex group of protein interactions associated with early symptomatic Alzheimer's disease (AD) and slow decline on clinical endpoints of cognition and function for up to 30 months to date. In prior research, results from the phase 2 study gap period (no study drug treatment) between the end of the study core and the beginning of retreatment in the open-label extension (OLE) provides evidence regarding the need for continued maintenance therapy beyond 18 months.

As a farmland species, the grey partridge is facing a drastic decline all over Europe. In Vipava Valley (Slovenia), the species was last observed around 20 years ago. In this region, an initiative for reintroducing grey partridges was put forward, with much effort dedicated to breeding partridges and monitoring breeding success in a closed area.

The successful onset of recovery of the European pine marten () in some parts of Britain through range expansion and, more recently translocation for reintroductions, has resulted in a strong interest in reintroduction projects throughout the country. However, the geographic scope and conservation goals of these initiatives are often local and lack consideration of how they fit within the wider context of national-scale pine marten conservation. Here, we aim to maximize conservation benefit strategically at a national level by developing a simple, transparent, and transferable framework based on landscape modelling methods and spatially explicit population viability analyses.
