A tale of two ages: fluid reasoning as a predictor of working memory training efficacy in middle-aged and older adults.

Research on working memory (WM) training reveals significant variability in training effects, indicating that pretraining cognitive abilities might account for these differences. However, consensus on whether higher (magnification account) or lower (compensation account) pretraining abilities predict greater training effects remains elusive. Our study aimed to clarify the role of fluid reasoning in predicting training performance (i.

Activation of three targets by a TAL effector confers susceptibility to bacterial blight of cotton.

Bacterial transcription activator-like effectors (TALEs) promote pathogenicity by activating host susceptibility (S) genes. To understand the pathogenicity and host adaptation of Xanthomonas citri pv. malvacearum (Xcm), we assemble the genome and the TALE repertoire of three recent Xcm Texas isolates.

Splenic cysts are rare medical conditions, and their incidence is dominated by parasitic types. Non-parasitic splenic cysts, whether true cysts (with a cellular lining of the cystic wall) or pseudocysts (without a cellular lining), are significantly rarer than parasitic ones. Their etiology is not fully established, with fetal remnant development, metaplasia, and mesothelial invagination being widely accepted possible mechanisms.

Transvaginal evisceration is a rare, potentially life-threatening condition involving herniation of intra-abdominal contents, typically the small bowel, through a defect in the vaginal wall. Most commonly observed in postmenopausal women with a history of pelvic surgery or trauma, it necessitates prompt surgical intervention. We report a unique case of transvaginal evisceration in a 67-year-old postmenopausal female with rectovaginal prolapse following minor trauma.

The three-amino-acid-loop-extension (TALE) homeodomain transcription factor family, including the KNOX and BELL subfamilies, is one of the largest gene families in plants. This family encodes plant-specific transcription factors that play critical roles in regulating plant growth, development, and stress responses. However, their interaction network, as well as resistant functional mechanism in is rarely reported.
