Given that the majority of active duty service members are young and healthy, potentially malignant diagnoses such as skin cancer may be overlooked. Although melanoma accounts for only approximately 1% of skin cancers, it causes the greatest majority of skin cancer deaths. We present the case of a 27-year-old active duty Marine who presented with a hyperpigmented macule at his lateral neck that was a malignant melanoma in situ. This article reviews risk factors for the development of melanoma, offers guidelines for primary care providers, reviews resources for providers in a deployed or austere environment, offers recommendations for prevention and early diagnosis, and discusses follow up.

Here, we present the case of a young man active-duty service member diagnosed with stage IE penile diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), germinal centre B-cell (GCB) subtype. Primary penile DLBCL is an exceptionally rare condition, with fewer than 30 cases reported in the medical literature. Notably, this patient is significantly younger than the typical demographic, as extranodal DLBCL affecting the penis usually occurs in elderly men, with a median age of 69 years at diagnosis.

Soft sparking is a phenomenon observed during plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) performed under alternating current (AC) conditions. It is directly associated with the presence of cathodic polarization during the oxidation process, contributing to enhanced functional coating properties. However, the role of cathodic current in oxide-layer formation remains ambiguous.

Expert reports analyze medical malpractice in urology based on selected case studies and assess their medical and legal implications. Common sources of error include noncompliance with clinical guidelines, inadequate patient information, insufficient diagnostics, and a lack of interdisciplinary coordination. The cases include, among others, incorrect biopsy techniques, delayed stroke diagnoses, failure to communicate pathological findings, and problematic coercive measures in pediatric patients.

Importance: This study addresses the critical need for an evidence-based instrument to assess the likelihood of NSAID-induced cardiovascular events, that provides clinicians with valuable decision support to improve safety in their use for pain management, especially in patients vulnerable to cardiovascular events.
Objective: To develop a practical risk scoring tool, NSAID Induced Cardiovascular Events (NAÏVE), for estimating the risk of serious cardiovascular events associated with NSAID use.
Design: Retrospective nested case-control study.

Background: At the end of 2023, Bayer AG launched its own internal large language model (LLM), MyGenAssist, based on ChatGPT technology to overcome data privacy concerns. It may offer the possibility to decrease their harshness and save time spent on repetitive and recurrent tasks that could then be dedicated to activities with higher added value. Although there is a current worldwide reflection on whether artificial intelligence should be integrated into pharmacovigilance, medical literature does not provide enough data concerning LLMs and their daily applications in such a setting.
