A hybrid coating made of poly (methyl methacrylate) with SiO2-TiO2 particles (PMMA/SiO2-TiO2) has been developed for use as a coating on nanosatellites, evaluating its resistance to high vacuum by quantifying its weight loss. The coating was applied on an Al 7075 aluminum substrate used for the aerospace sector. PMMA/SiO2-TiO2 hybrid coatings were prepared using sol-gel reaction in situ assisted with sonochemistry.

Detecting glucose levels is crucial for diabetes patients as it enables timely and effective management, preventing complications and promoting overall health. In this endeavor, we have designed a novel, affordable point-of-care diagnostic device utilizing microfluidic principles, a smartphone camera, and established laboratory colorimetric methods for accurate glucose estimation. Our proposed microfluidic device comprises layers of adhesive poly-vinyl films stacked on a poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) base sheet, with micro-channel contours precision-cut using a cutting printer.

This study investigated the adhesion of 4META-MMA-TBB resin to CAD/CAM composite resin blocks. CAD/CAM composite resin blocks were subjected to alumina blasting, ceramic primer treatment, or both, and then bonded with 4META-MMA-TBB resin. The tensile bond strength of 4META-MMA-TBB resin to blocks without surface treatment was approximately 20 MPa, but with surface treatment, it significantly improved to approximately 40 MPa.
