Purpose: This paper aims to delve into the critical aspect of supplier selection in the healthcare sector, emphasizing the significance of strategic sourcing in enhancing operational efficiency and quality of services. The primary aim is to develop a comprehensive framework for supplier evaluation that aligns with the unique requirements of hospitals, ultimately improving procurement processes and patient care outcomes.

Design/methodology/approach: The study leverages the renowned Carter's 7 C model as a foundational framework for supplier assessment, supplemented by insights gathered from interviews with experts in the New Product Introduction, Purchasing and Procurement departments of a leading hospital in India.

Background: T cells are involved in every stage of tumor development and significantly influence the tumor microenvironment (TME). Our objective was to assess T-cell marker gene expression profiles, develop a predictive risk model for human papilloma virus (HPV)-negative oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) utilizing these genes, and examine the correlation between the risk score and the immunotherapy response.

Methods: We acquired scRNA-seq data for HPV-negative OSCC from the GEO datasets.

Maternal adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are linked to negative health and developmental outcomes in offspring. However, whether maternal ACEs influence infant weight gain in the first months of life, and if this effect differs by infant sex, remains unclear. This study included 352 full-term newborns from low-risk pregnancies and their mothers in low-income settings in Brazil.

Acute internal carotid artery occlusion (AICAO) can result in malignant cerebral edema and unfavorable patient outcomes. This study evaluated the utility of transcranial Doppler (TCD) in assessing contralateral flow compensation and predicting outcomes in patients with AICAO. We enrolled 51 patients within 6 h of symptom onset and conducted TCD examinations to evaluate collateral circulation.

This paper investigates the noncooperative game problems over weight-balanced digraphs with communication delays. Compared with existing noncooperative games, a class of noncooperative games that are more aligned with practical systems is discussed, where all agents have uncertain heterogeneous second-order nonlinear dynamics. Then, considering two different types of communication delays, respectively slowly-varying communication delays and fast-varying communication delays, the distributed algorithm is designed to seek the Nash equilibrium (NE).
