Magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles doped with samarium were prepared by solvothermal polyol method. An introduction of 2,2'-bipyridine during the synthesis reduces the particle diameter to about 9nm in average. The difference in physical and magnetic properties of the samples prepared with and without capping agent was outlined on the basis of complex characterization by a number of experimental techniques. The characteristics of resulted product make it suitable for biomedical applications, for instance, as a contrast agent for MRI.

Here, a straightforward design is employed to synthesize a nanocatalyst based on a carbon-activated modified metal-organic framework using the solvothermal method. This work presents a simple and practical approach for producing the activated carbon derived from the Thymus plant (ACT) modified with amine-functionalized isoreticular metal-organic framework-3 (IRMOF-3) to create an ACT@IRMOF-3 core-shell structure. Successful functionalization was confirmed through N adsorption isotherms, FT-IR, FE-SEM, TEM, EDS, elemental mapping, TGA, and XRD analysis.

Nickel pyrovanadate (NVO) and compositing rGO in different concentrations with NVO are synthesized via the solvothermal process. XRD patterns reveal the formation of crystalline NVO and amorphous rGO in the nanocomposite. The morphology of the material resembles the formation of an NVO hollow nanosphere through a template-free synthesis route with the effect of ethylene glycol.

The urgent need to address escalating environmental pollution and energy management challenges has underscored the importance of developing efficient, cost-effective, and multifunctional electrocatalysts. To address these issues, we developed an eco-friendly, cost-effective, and multifunctional electrocatalyst a solvothermal synthesis approach. Due to the merits of the ideal synthesis procedure, the FeCoHS@NF electrocatalyst exhibited multifunctional activities, like OER, HER, OWS, UOR, OUS, and overall alkaline seawater splitting, with required potentials of 1.

Carbon dots (CDs) are versatile nanomaterials that are considered ideal for application in bioimaging, drug delivery, sensing, and optoelectronics owing to their excellent photoluminescence, biocompatibility, and chemical stability features. Nitrogen doping enhances the fluorescence of CDs, alters their electronic properties, and improves their functional versatility. N-doped CDs can be synthesized via solvothermal treatment of carbon sources with nitrogen-rich precursors; however, systematic investigations of their synthesis mechanisms have been rarely reported.

Tin sulphide compounds (SnS, x = 1, 2) are potential anode materials for potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) due to their characteristic layered structure, high theoretical capacity, non-toxicity and low production cost. However, they suffer from significant volume changes resulting in poor performance of such anodes. In this work incorporation of SnS into the carbon structure was expected to overcome these disadvantages.
