Cystic adventitial disease (CAD) is a rare vascular pathology which predominantly affects peripheral vessels of young otherwise healthy males. Much debate exists regarding its exact etiology. It is characterized by a collection of mucinous material within the adventitial wall layer of the affected vessel, resulting in arterial stenosis and rapidly progressive calf claudication. Treatment is primarily surgical, although radiological interventions have been reported. Its rarity makes evidence-based surgical or radiological management difficult. With this in mind, we report two cases of popliteal artery CAD treated successfully with primary excision and bypass grafting. We analyzed all literature published on CAD since first reported in 1947 and we propose an algorithm for appropriate management pathways.

A 61-year-old man in critical condition was admitted to the resuscitation room in the emergency department, presenting with chest pain and shortness of breath. His medical history included recent treatment with oral antibiotics for pneumonia, long-standing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a 40-pack-year smoking history, and a left popliteal artery embolus. He was also on chronic medications, including apixaban and aspirin.
Paclitaxel can inhibit smooth muscle cell proliferation and migration, and reduce the risk of vascular restenosis after balloon dilation. Our study investigated the safety and efficacy of paclitaxel-coated balloon (PCB) treatment for diabetic subpatellar artery disease. In this study, 140 patients with diabetic subknee arterial disease treated in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into the control group (conventional balloon interventionization angioplasty) and the observation group (PCB interventionization angioplasty), with 70 cases in each group according to the differences in previous balloon interventionization.
Introduction: The menisci are a pair of fibrocartilaginous structures important for the normal biomechanical function of the knees. Tears are common, and multiple approaches have been used to repair meniscal tears. Of the approaches, the all-inside approach has historically been avoided for tears to the posterior aspect of the lateral meniscus (LM) due to the risk of popliteal and common peroneal neurovascular injury.
