Coordination of the alkyl-substituted alkynes Me SiC CH R (1: R=SiMe ; 2: R=N(SiMe ) ) to titanocene centres [Cp' Ti] (Cp'=Cp, Cp*) yields stable alkyne complexes of the type Cp' Ti(η -Me SiC CH R) (3: Cp'=Cp, R=SiMe ; 5: Cp'=Cp, R=N(SiMe ) ; 6: Cp'=Cp*, R=SiMe ) that are not prone to alkyne/allene isomerisation. When reacting alkyne 2 with Cp TiCl and Mg formation of the complex Cp* Ti(III)(η -Me SiC CH ) (7) which displays a propargylic unit coordinated to the Ti centre takes place. All complexes were fully characterised, the molecular structures for 5, 6, and 7 are discussed.

Parthenolide improves sepsis-induced coagulopathy by inhibiting mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis in vascular endothelial cells through BRD4/BCL-xL pathway.

Department of Anesthesiology, Daping Hospital, Army Medical University, No.10, Changjiang Road, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, 400042, China.

Background: Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory syndrome that can cause coagulation abnormalities, leading to damage in multiple organs. Vascular endothelial cells (VECs) are crucial in the development of sepsis-induced coagulopathy (SIC). The role of Parthenolide (PTL) in regulating SIC by protecting VECs remains unclear.

Protective role of triiodothyronine in sepsis‑induced cardiomyopathy through phospholamban downregulation.

Sepsis is often a cause of mortality in patients admitted to the intensive care unit. Notably, the heart is the organ most susceptible to the impact of sepsis and this condition is referred to as sepsis‑induced cardiomyopathy (SIC). Low triiodothyronine (T3) syndrome frequently occurs in patients with sepsis, and the heart is one of the most important target organs for the action of T3.

Background: The aim of this study was to explore the value of heparin-binding protein (HBP) in the early recognition of sepsis coagulopathy (SIC) and the prognosis of sepsis patients.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed for 139 patients with sepsis admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hefei Third People's Hospital from April 2022 through April 2024. The clinical baseline data, disease scores [sequential organ failure (SOFA) score, acute physiology and chronic health status (APACHE II) score, and SIC score], inflammatory markers [HBP, procalcitonin (PCT), and interleukin 6 (IL-6)], coagulation-related indexes [platelet count (PLT), prothrombin time (PT), prothrombin time international normalized ratio (PT-INR), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), fibrinogen (Fib), and D dimer (D-D)], and the survival time and 28-day prognosis of all patients were observed.

Phenotypic plasticity and increased infiltration of peripheral blood-derived TREM1 mono-macrophages following radiotherapy in rectal cancer.

Electronic address:

In our previously reported phase 2 and phase 3 studies, the combination of short-course radiotherapy and neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy (SIC) is established as effective cancer therapies for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). Here, we apply multi-omic analyses to paired pre- and post-treatment LARC specimens undergoing SIC. The peripheral blood-derived TREM1 mono-macrophage subsets that display a pro-inflammatory phenotype are identified and correlate with complete response to SIC.

: A large amount of recent evidence suggests that cellular inability to consume oxygen could play a notable part in promoting sepsis as a consequence of mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress. The latter could, in fact, represent a fundamental stage in the evolution of the "natural history" of sepsis. Following a study previously conducted by the same working group on heart samples, the present research project aims to evaluate, through an immunohistochemical study, the existence and/or extent of oxidative stress in the brains of subjects who died due to sepsis and define, after reviewing the literature, its contribution to the septic process to support the use of medications aimed at correcting redox anomalies in the management of septic patients.
