The comparison covers a wide range of visual representations from the French Revolution (1789-1799), the French July Revolution (1830), the Crimean War (1853-1856), the Austro-Prussian War (1866), the Franco-Prussian War (1870/71), to the First (1914-1918) and Second (1939-1945) World Wars and places them in their respective historical contexts.
