Background: Sarcopenia, which is associated with many pathways and molecular mechanisms, not only deteriorates the quality of life in old age but is also linked to various diseases. The ratio between cortisol and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) was utilized as a candidate method to diagnose sarcopenia. The hormones can fluctuate in concentration throughout the day, so monitoring the ratio between the two hormones is necessary.

Understanding the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) mechanism is pivotal for improving the overall efficiency of water electrolysis. Despite methylammonium lead halide perovskites (MAPbX) have shown promising OER performance due to their soft-lattice nature that allows lattice-oxygen oxidation of active α-PbO layer surface, the role of A-site MA or X-site elements in the electrochemical reconstruction and OER mechanisms has yet to be explored. Here, it is demonstrated that the OER mechanism of perovskite@zeolite composites is intrinsically dominated by the A-site group of lead-halide perovskites, while the type of X-site halogen is crucial for the reconstruction kinetics of the composites.

For batteries to function effectively all active material must be accessible requiring both electron and ion transport to each particle. A common approach to generating the needed conductive network is the addition of carbon. An alternative approach is the electrochemically induced formation of conductive reaction products generated with intimate contact to the active material.

A new conjugate, 2-(4-(anthracen-9-yl) phenyl)-[1,2-d]imidazole-1H-anthraquninone (AQI) has been designed and synthesized as a molecular probe 4. The photophysical and electrochemical behavior of the probe in the absence and presence of different class of ions were examined in acetonitrile solution. The probe 4 with F- and CN- anions showed ratiometric fluorescence "turn - On" response due to variation in ICT processes.

Electrochemical aptamer-based biosensors (E-aptasensors) are emerging platforms for point-of-care (POC) detection of complex biofluids. Human saliva particularly offers a noninvasive matrix and unprecedented convenience for detecting illicit drugs, such as cocaine. However, the sensitivity of cocaine E-aptasensors is significantly compromised in saliva.
