Roaming reactions involving a neutral fragment of a molecule that transiently wanders around another fragment before forming a new bond are intriguing and peculiar pathways for molecular rearrangement. Such reactions can occur for example upon double ionization of small organic molecules, and have recently sparked much scientific interest. We have studied the dynamics of the [Formula: see text]-roaming reaction leading to the formation of [Formula: see text] after two-photon double ionization of ethanol and 2-aminoethanol, using an XUV-UV pump-probe scheme.

Background: Child Protection Legal Systems around the world work to toe the line between protecting children from possible harms and avoiding inflicting further harm by mistreating or misrecognizing the problems the children in question are facing. Despite growing efforts to enhance children's participation in child protection proceedings, there is still a lot of criticism from families and children directed at the state and the legal system.

Objective: This inquiry attempts to locate at least one of the reasons for such criticism - the feeling of being excluded from the decision-making process.

Revumenib: a new era in acute leukemia treatment.

Trends Cancer

January 2025

Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Weill Cornell Medicine, New York, NY, USA. Electronic address:

The AUGMENT-101 clinical trial reported that the use of revumenib led to improved overall survival (OS) and complete remission (CR)/CR with partial hematologic recovery (CRh) in patients with acute leukemias and has released updated data with longer follow-up of Phase 2 results. Additionally, revumenib has received FDA approval for its use in relapsed or refractory (r/r) lysine methyltransferase 2A rearranged (KMT2A-r) acute leukemias.

Electronic address:

In this study, we successfully integrated the full-length genome of the cyanophage PP into the non-host cyanobacterium Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942, facilitated by conjugation via Escherichia coli. To address the challenge posed by the toxic open reading frames (ORFs) of PP in E. coli, we first identified and characterized three toxic ORFs.

Thio/selenoimidazole Nπ-methyltransferases are an emerging family of enzymes catalyzing the final step in the production of the S/Se-containing histidine-derived antioxidants ovothiol and ovoselenol. These enzymes, prevalent in prokaryotes, show minimal sequence similarity to other methyltransferases, and the structural determinants of their reactivities remain poorly understood. Herein, we report ligand-bound crystal structures of OvsM from the ovoselenol pathway as well as a member of a previously unknown clade of standalone ovothiol-biosynthetic Nπ-methyltransferases, which we have designated OvoM.
