Background: The influence of various musculoskeletal disorders has been evaluated using different kinetic and kinematic parameters. But the efficiency of walking can be evaluated by measuring the effort of the subject, or by other words the energy that is required to walk.
Objective: The aim of this study was to identify mechanical energy differences between the normal and pathological groups. Four groups of 15 healthy subjects, 13 Parkinson subjects, 4 osteoarthritis subjects, and 4 ACL reconstructed subjects have participated in this study. The motions of foot, shank and thigh were recorded using a three dimensional motion analysis system. The kinetic, potential and total mechanical energy of each segment was calculated using 3D markers positions and anthropometric measurements.
Results: Maximum value and sample entropy of energies was compared between the normal and abnormal subjects. Maximum value of potential energy of OA subjects was lower than the normal subjects. Furthermore, sample entropy of mechanical energy for Parkinson subjects was low in comparison to the normal subjects while sample entropy of mechanical energy for the ACL subjects was higher than that of the normal subjects.
Conclusion: Findings of this study suggested that the subjects with different abilities show different mechanical energy during walking.

This study investigates the ablation performance of Inconel 718, a nickel-based superalloy, and metal matrix polycrystalline diamond (MMPCD), a super composite, using a nano-second (ns) pulsed laser across a range of ablation conditions. Single trenches varying in energy fluence and scanning speeds were created, analyzing the experimental responses in terms of ablation rate and surface roughness. Using regression techniques, models were developed to understand these relationships.

A highly effective method for creating a supramolecular metallogel of Ni(II) ions (NiA-TA) has been developed in our work. This approach uses benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid as a low molecular weight gelator (LMWG) in DMF solvent. Rheological studies assessed the mechanical properties of the Ni(II)-metallogel, revealing its angular frequency response and thixotropic behaviour.

The mechanical responses of sandy soil under dynamic loading is closely related to protective engineering and geotechnical engineering, is still not fully understood. To investigate the energy attenuation law and propagation velocity of compressed waves in dry sandy soil, this paper focuses on the dynamic response of compression waves in the specimen under single impact and repetitive impact conditions using an improved split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB). The results reveal that the length of the specimen follows an exponential relationship with the attenuation of the peak stress.

This study aims to reduce engine emissions while maintaining engine performance and providing a sustainable fuel source for long-term use. It introduces a novel approach by combining pine oil (PO) and lemon grass oil (LGO) with diesel fuel in a specific ratio (10% PO + 10% LGO + 80% Diesel). This work is innovative in that it employs these two distinct low-viscosity biofuel blends in conjunction with diesel fuel in an agricultural engine, resulting in reduced carbon footprints in the tailpipe.
